Design Apprentice, Men’s RTW (2017)
During my apprenticeship at Coach, I supported my team in the creation of menswear lines for Coach 1941 RTW, Retail, and Outlet collections. My work consisted of coloring up sketches, assembling line plans, developing mock ups, and creating tech packs for sampling. The apprenticeship culminated in the preparation and launch of Coach’s Spring 2018 RTW runway show. Each garment in the collection is imbued with layers of detail and painstakingly re-worked appliqué, in which the whimsical artwork of Keith Haring blends into a backdrop of vintage tropical motifs.

Appliqués are mocked up on proto garments and undergo countless revisions in size, layout, and placement before their exact construction is detailed in a tech pack for sampling. Embroidery techniques, stitch direction, and thread colors must be called out precisely for the supplier to reproduce.

FALL 2018 MEN’S RTW RUNWAY
While wrapping up Spring towards the second half of my apprenticeship, design and development for the Fall collection began. Leather outerwear is adorned with fringe, cross stitching, and embossed artwork. Numerous layouts for metal studs and patchwork quilting were created for a vintage rock ‘n roll meets cowboy aesthetic.

DISNEY X COACH:
A DARK FAIRY TALE
A collaborative capsule between Disney and Coach, in which characters or objects were extracted from stills of Disney’s animated classics such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. These motifs were then translated into intricate embroideries through thread color matching and stitch layouts.
